I really think the MBP market and Surface market are totally different, I am an Apple Retailer and i havent had any interest from my clients in switching to any Windows based platform. The 'switching' is still the other way. The high USD has had an impact, but it just means users wait longer between updates, not that they move to a Windows PC.
Regardless its a good distribution product for DDR to pick up, as Klogg says, it has its place in the corporate environment where Windows is the chosen platform.
The margins are much lower on Apple product and Express Online were unable to compete with Ingram Micro and so gave up the Apple distribution - we stopped using them as a distributer when they started charging for freight, that made them totally uncompetitive.
Interestingly I dont use DDR as a supplier for other hardware as I found the uncompetitive compared to other distributers. It was a bit frustrating as a shareholder because I would have liked to spend my money with the company I was invested in! Still, they seem to be able to find plenty of market share so I just enjoy the dividends and capital growth!
