I think your asking a bit much from the company to give ano announcement regarding connection issues. Maybe if the issue was affecting the bulk of users you might expect an announcement.
From an IT perspective Im sure the company is aware of the issues and are working to resolve them. This is what app development is about. The issue has more to do with the company not providing a platform for users to report problems and trouble shooting solutions such as a forum.
