Yes it would have been great to do it without the consolidation but it is a still a good move and everything else will follow.
Despite the implication of others, this is not a negative for EXT and the SP won't go down, that is just plain nonsense in this case and this will be proven fact.
Why are there people here trying to break down EXT? One of 2 reasons only...self interest or bitter from their own mistakes and past losses. People who have an interest don't go out of their way to down play anything let alone their own funds.
