"A spokesman for Mr Cottee said no papers had been served on Central and Mr Cottee was not aware of the claim, nor had he ever met or spoken to the claimant, GRR, led by Naraj Pande.
"The claim appears to relate to a period before Mr Cottee was CEO of Central Petroleum," the spokesman said.
But John Heugh, who was in charge of Central when the original agreement was signed with GRR, said he believed GRR had "an excellent case" against Central, assuming the existence of an agreement with Mr Shortt.
"Naraj was pivotal in the introduction of Total and in the early discussions with Total," Mr Heugh said."
Ignorance feigned or not, will not affect an outcome that will probably cost CTP.
"Not showing hands", seems to work against the company as well as for it, as little clarity or fair dinkum communication since 2012.
