I think this is a very good case study of why it is better to under promise and over deliver. I doubt if prior to launch the company had stated something along the lines of "due to tech issues we are currently only seeing data savings of ~10% and speed increases of ~60% on average. We are looking to rectify the issue and as such will be releasing the app in beta version to VIPs to further gauge responsiveness and iron out any bugs before launching full commercialisation. We expect this to take 3-4weeks."

Imagine how much healthier the SP would be. The market would be more comfortable with its holdings knowing that there was a clear path and actions being taken. Most importantly there would be no ambiguity as to whether or not this is the full potential of the app.
