re: announcement for studs1980 Tarzan
todays announcement was the same patent issued in 2001 to QPX now IPR.
It was the same announcement released in January last year as well.
as to its validity as a patent.
QPX now IPR took DT of Germany to court over this very patent...SAR>...and lost as DT cited "prior art"
QPX/IPR are now appealing this decision.
The issue being having a patent means nothing at the end of the day if you cannot fight for it.
QPX/IPR are just finding this out as they now even have litigation pending against Lloyds who were funding the DT case.
Not to mention litigation against Ericcson who had already been paying QPX/IPR royalties but who have now decided to not do so....this is before the Federal Court in Australia.
What i am saying to you is there is NO such thing as a certainty.
Sure QPX/IPR now hold the patents and they are valid.
The issue will always remain how do you enforce and prove your patent is beiong violated???
IPR could very well succeed in its patent cases....it could also fail.
That is why it was trading at 8c.....and i suspect it will close back at 8c again shortly as it did this time last year.
