My assumptions up further on this thread were not to be interpreted as a bias to rail or road but simply to highlight some possible ball park cost differences from my own experience. The additional $1.0 per ton if loaded rail stock departs Pilbara rather than a spur is simply to highlight that once loaded the small additional 20 KM is not proportionately increasing the carriage rates.
I am a little surprised we are discussing this, for a year a ago I was under the impression that this was not to be an issue and we could easily utilise rail freight. It seems some misunderstandings from posts back then?
