Have they actually said that the Garden Island microgrid will be commissioned next year with an operational Ceto 6 included?

My understanding is, that GIMP will have a solar array, battery storage, control system and desalination up and running by mid 2017.

To me it seems that too many things have to occur for a Ceto 6 to be ready in time for the middle of next year.

For a start, the winter period from May to October is when GI has it's biggest waves. I would think a buoy would need to have been deployed well before then.

This model of Ceto is quite different to all of the other models, so I would think it would need to undergo extensive in water testing before it goes into operation.

At the moment, they have not yet begun to build anything, not even the foundations.

The company frequently states that the facilities in Cornwall are the best in the world. I think that is where it will be built and tested. When it is ready, they will deploy the first operational unit at Garden Island, followed by one at WaveHub.

If someone can find somewhere that a Ceto 6 will be operating off Garden Island by mid next year I will happily take back what I have said.
