I can partly agree. But tied up with that is our capacity for imagination. To imagine, to say 'what if' is often the driving force in discovery.
It's not so much that inventing religion is so bad, but our teaching of following generations that they are true, is where the real trouble lies.
Look around, we have people who will kill for a belief that is made up nonsense. it's going to be a long road before we divest ourselves of it.
