Distance to plant is 100km. Moving 1.5mtpa is easily accomplished with road trains. It was worked out on a POS thread can't remember exact numbers but about 20 road trains 24/7 to achieve.
Distance to port is just part of mining. There'd be more mining companies using road trains to port than rail to port and from much more remote places. Think LJ to Esperance is ~300km all Tarmac or Albany can't remember which. (GXY and NMT will use Esperance)
Using POS plant as a stop gap while there's is built is fantastic. Early to market and cash flow. GXY was an upgrade from 2 to 4 mpta. Basically building a whole new 2mtpa plant. Compared to adding a some new spod specific circuits to an existing plant. Slightly different.
The legal fiasco is a little unnerving but I've hedged my bets both ways and will wait to see who comes out trumps.
