Directors of other companies have paid heavy prices for announcing deals that didn't exist. FAS has done this three or four times, and is now insolvent.
Think Padbury and Oakagee.
What is the difference between that announcement and any that FAS have made? None that I can see.
I think the fact that the WA govt was involved is the reason that was taken further to save face - but I daresay FAS has been fortunate not to have any action taken.
The only rumors and innuendo have been the FAS announcements- one company cannot possibly have so many 'irrevocable' deals fall through, unless the governance of those deals was, to be polite, less than perfect
