I disagree varuka. The share price of a company and the true value of the company are two very different things.
The share price, is effected as you rightly said by wishful thinking, opinion and speculation, as well as sentiment. The value of a company does not.
It is the reason we see fluctuations is the share price of companies on a day to day basis. Although it is true that the market dictates the value of a share in a company, the book vale remains the same.
Some companies trade at above market value, while others, like VMT is currently, trade below it.
