Well, i would think it unusual if his family didn't take the opportunity to cash in on the celebrity status.
I doubt many of those who voted for him would really care if he did benefit from insider knowledge and influence as long as he makes America Great Again.

I'm not sure why Australian society has become so opposed to it.
Facilitation payments are the cultural norm in much of the world.
I suppose Trump could be a bit like China, where bribery is rife but it leaves people open to criminal proceedings if certain officials become upset with you or want to take over your business.
