Here is a couple of bobs worth just for sh*ts n giggles. I know mentioning Nanosonics (Nan) here will get some responses but I do it purely as a timeline vs price example and not a like for like business comparison (as they are very different animals)

.....Ok in mid 2008 Nan was trading at lows of 17 cents as they got their act together and actually started getting serious trying to prove their flagship product and as they progressed the sp steadily increased (regardless of any GFC effects on markets) through 2009 to 2011 to around 90 cents and then over the next 15 to 16 months, with delays and no serious approvals / deals nailed down, moved sideways and then steadily down to 50 cents through to first quarter of 2013 then from there they nailed down the approvals in Europe and the US and the sp responded as investors stepped up to the plate with increasing product uptake and regulatory changes to their particular area of medicine and some smart partnering on the sales front resulting in major increases in sales and therefore revenue (including the lucrative consumables sales associated with the product) the sp increased over the next 24 months or so to present day and is trading at support levels around the $3.20 to $3.40 range but with no dividend ever declared or paid so far....but pretty good capital gains if ya bought right or were just very long. The Nan story is still developing obviously.

....Alrighty then, in 2007 LBT was trading all over the shop from 20 cents to 40 cents and back again with some sideways steady trading into mid 2008 at or around 20 cents and then from third qtr 2008 slowly but surely drifted sideways and eventually down again sideways at 11 cents to 15 cents for the next 5 years (on similar development / approval delays and factors etc blah blah blah as Nan) then late 2013 the company hits it straps product wise and approvals start to become possible and there is some minor short lived market buzz mid 2014 and the price jumped above 20 cents but soon settled back down and then sideways again until the co partner deals of 2015 and US approvals processes kicked in where the sp moved up and again sideways to the 20ish cents levels through to last qtr 2016 until the USDA approval led sp explosion to the $1.08 level and its trending back down to around 2007 levels of 42ish cents in last month / six weeks period....all with a exciting but very junior product going on the market (as in time wise - no serious uptake of the technology offered as yet - so no serious revenue runs on the board obviously).... The LBT story is still developing also.

...so the market reacted to potential and of course those who had em sold into it and the rest is short term history... and yep the usual nashing of teeth and spewing forth of opinion etc started and will be ongoing no doubt...but I digress ...

This diatribe of mine was purely to illustrate what long plays Biotechs can be if they are not eaten by bigger companies along their individual journeys and not as comparison nor opinion as to the merits or detriments or preference for either....

As usual please please please dyor.....own em if ya want...trade em if ya want....cry over em if ya want....smile at em if ya want...comment on em if want...or just watch em if ya want blah blah blah

If ya made it to this bit - then cheers for at least reading it.....

    Regards - WTF.
