    Agree with you there Taffy, the area a solar / solar + battery + other renewables etc which Carnegie / EMC are proposing is tiny relative to coal mines and the related transport and other infrastructure needed.

    Just google 'Hunter Valley Coal Mines' and then click images to get an idea of the area these mines cover.
