Not exactly correct, they aren't using "Jumbo Frames" they have just increase the payload size to whatever they have built into the app (~40k at a guess).
Frame size across the wire is still 1500.
Fragmentation still occurs which results in higher CPU usage, in addition to decompression, the better the phone the quicker the processing. But the CPU overhead comes at an energy cost so your battery will drain a lot faster.
In addition to the stock-standard compression, it looks like they are using caching on their end which is why some traffic seems quicker than others, as they pull the data straight off their servers than having to retrieve it from the host.
Caching is an issue and no way would an ISP ever try to implement it - You leave it up to the web developers to tell browsers what data to cache and what not to. It's also what CDN's are for.
