So if you look at the summary I did a couple of days ago, we were classified as a CSP (Carrier Service Provider) by the government back in March-ish and this meant that in order for our service to operate legally under the new data interception laws the company was going to have to bake in some way for the government to intercept meta data.

Now, as I understand Wangle aren't completely correct on this post as only the services that have been classified as a CSP would have to do this and if they aren't then they would still be operating legally even without providing data interception capabilities.

So yes, we might have an advantage in the fact that we're fully complaint but that only exists if the others get classfied as CSPs as well (which they might not). Another core issues is that as the company explained in June is that by providing this data interception capability the performance of the app was hampered and thus required heavy re-engineering (according to the company). I personally believe (I think @pow4ade dows too) however that the company is still having issues with getting back to pre-compliance levels of performance and hence the less-than-impressive results of the MVP version.
