I think charts are useful but AMP depends more on the upcoming results or perceptions there of. Interesting to read in the AFR this morning that some good results are being seen in UK companies and some fund managers believe AMP’s provision for the product in question is reasonable (which is what I also thought last week). Merrill Lynch have been over optimistic in the past and now I think overly pessimistic. AMP could well surprise to the upside when they report but I agree till then if perceptions are bad then the price could drift lower.
Keep in mind we are at all time lows at a time when the FTSE have recovered over 1000 points and UK insurers are also trading well off their lows (apart from AMP).
