BHP Billiton, Anglo
BHP Billiton, the world's biggest mining company, added 4.9 percent to 930 pence. Anglo American Plc, the second-largest, advanced 3.1 percent to 2,468 pence. Xstrata Plc, the world's fourth-largest copper producer, climbed 3.9 percent to 2,399 pence.

``There's a lot of money chasing too few deals,'' Michael Lynch-Bell, head of metals and mining at the accountancy firm, said in an interview in London yesterday. ``I have told clients, this is what you should look at.''
