    just an expansion on the explanation re CIF:

    another way to look at it is, the seller pays for the insurance and freight costs and recover this two costs from the buyer, thus the invoiced value is based on CIF (cost, insurance, freight). The net effect is, the buyer pays for freight and insurance.
