With all due respect, Turnbull is not just facing difficulties with labor and a difficalt senate, he also faces difficulties from within the LNP.
It's a tough gig, all very well to stand by your principle but the all or nothing approach can leave you with nothing.
Abbott had to be dumped, had he not Shorten would be PM now. At the Time Turnbull was the obvious and best person for the job, not sure if some one else could have taken the leadership and won the election but even now there is no one that looks like they could take the leadership and improve the LNP standing.
For all the talk, LNP are not that far behind in the polls. Not that the polls mean much ATM
