I don't understand what clark is aying regarding zero sum. The way I see it, speculative trading is zero sum, because in order for me to make money, someone else must lose it. That's because most spec co.s spike and drop and never recover. Investing long term in quality companies is not zero sum because over any ten year period the average company SP will increase, so everyone wins.
