That's not really true. If, for example, it could be shown that prayer could consistently result in the suspension of the laws of nature in conditions that rule out chance and fraud then that would be compelling evidence for me. If controlled experiments demonstrated that people being prayed for are consistently healed compared to a control group that receive no prayer that would be compelling evidence. Such experiments have been conducted and failed.
Some make the excuse that God is not put to the test - but what do they think they do every time they pray for some outcome?
