It's because they don't have much in the way of oil supply of S. album (Indian Sandalwood) yet but do have supply of S. spicatum (Australian sandalwood). S. album, what little of it they have actually produced to date, is all pretty much going to offshore trade. Remember, S. album takes nearly two decades to grow and thus TFC are at the thin end of the wedge as far as tangible supply goes for that. Plus, they are obviously going to seek the highest and best use in the marketplace for the products from each species. Highest and best use for S. album is unlikely to be in local markets.
