When Dr Brendan Howlin arrives in Edinburgh and the charging time is verified by an independent scientific body, I will be interested. But as for investing any money, I think I will wait for long term testing of any such new technology.
There are now 100,000 Chevy Volts on the road. Tesla have captured market share and worldwide respect for what they have achieved to date using existing battery tech.
As automakers and battery suppliers bring 12 megafactories into production in the coming years, 7 of those in China, they are not going to switch to a new technology at the drop of a hat. So from that perspective Dr Brendan better get his new tech to market ASAP.
