Movement in the price may simply be a matter of timing as could still be up to 6 months before we see any results from the product development phase. Imugene has received positive preliminary data from trials of its orally administered bird flu vaccine for chickens. The company's lead broiler vaccine candidate has achieved proof-of-concept confirmation and will now progress to the product development phase. This will involve vaccine construction optimisation followed by dose and timing optimisation studies. These will improve the effectiveness of the vaccine, including increasing the rate of birds protected and the timing for the onset of immunity. Planning of the next phases will depend partly on the information gained from the full trial results report expected within the next two months.
IMU still has to plenty to do before it can commence formal field trials of a completed vaccine. The challenge going forward is to be able to complete significant regulatory hurdles in terms of gaining laboratory space for large scale teste and then ultimately conduct field trials.
Unfortunately this all takes time. The fact that the vaccine candidate can be added via aerosol is a huge plus that can't be ignored.
Like Fredi, I have been holding IMU for 3 years or so and am prepared to wait.
