I have looked into the proposition for GMed on a superficial level and managed to get a look at the deck third hand and certainly the idea of one device that can be contained in different covers for different phones is quite appealing for exactly the reason you mention - that you only have to obtain FDA approval for one device.I can see this will be quite a crowded sector with an increased focus on E-Health. I guess how close they are to commercialising the device will determine market interest.

And yeah, I've developed an interest in tech IPOs after some of the stellar performances in 2016 from selected listings and have become quite a regular reader of the IPO thread. Going to try and get involved in the most promising ones.
