I agree with most of that post with the exception of ... "ucg is a low cost but high carbon emission electrical generation technology".
Given that induced oxidation to produce the low calorific gas occurs deep underground, I would have thought that carbon (as in ash and CO2) would remain there and that when the extracted gas is combusted for electrical generation it should be pretty much the same as any other natural gas which has typically 30% lower CO2 emission/energy unit than say coal.
Looking at recent stated political announcements worldwide, it'd surely be a pretty pollie that could announce a project that lowered greenhouse emissions by 30% or more!
Good to read about the range of gas powered electricity production technologies is your post though.

PS to FF ... its hard to place your angle mate ... you appear to have some knowledge/understanding about ucg in general and PCE/Dr Len in particular ... however in different posts you cover the full range from positive to negative sentiment. Are you just trying to stimulate discussion? In the other PCE thread we have going I suspect you have the answer or position you are wanting others to get to ... free to spill if you know more lol ... no agro here, just curious ... cheers.
