Eagle is of course right in saying that protectionism is lefty politics. But I think this will be Trump's strength - he will combine the best of both.
The Good Lord knows successive Guvnuts have taken the US too far in terms of "free trade" and, as a result, have created a vast "rust belt". Corporations have become rich and the people have suffered enormously. Hence Trump having a go at GMH for building cars in Mexico and importing them tax-free, for example.
Clearly that policy needs to change and will change under Trump!
