Cannot say for certain but brokers who lead a CR have placed clients into the stock and as part of the CR process often release a report they tend to keep updating their report so that those customers invested are happy. If they break with the company then normally they issue a ceasing coverage statement or generally it just stops being reported on and you go elsewhere for info. They get paid for the CR so even that report is often not directly paid for but if they stop covering a company or intend to they often contact the company to see if the company will pay for the report as part of its marketing.
Personally I dont trust any broker report - too many unknowns. I like the info but don't draw any conclusions from it.
