OK - I've made a conscious decision, after some serious research. I have removed my stoploss on AGS, PDN and SMM
Yes - you heard me right - NO stops! And that is from a TA trend-rider.
However, the uranium story is so compelling, and those three in particular are so good, I've followed the advice of James Dines and am now holding those with no stops set.
I bought more AGS this morning at 1.58, to add to my already large holding.
I spent almost an hour on the phone this morning with AGS - a VERY senior person there who asked not to be named. He is one of the top 20 shareholders as well. From what he told me about the company (most of which I already knew, but some missing details were filled in), and the fact that the JORC report is currently held up at the labs, to be released to Quasar in the next 3 or 4 weeks, I am VERY optimistic about AGS as a long term hold. In other words, an investment, not a trade. The person to whom I spoke is not selling ANY of his shares, and there could be some director-buying activity going on about now, but of course he couldn't say anything specific. ;)
Now I have always been very firmly against buy-and-hold strategies, but I'm making a conscious exception in these three cases:
PDN is one that I started buying at 7 cents, and averaged up to a total buy price of 50.3 cents. I have a truckload - a big 6-figure number. I have held through the dips to see the price today being around $9.30
SMM - I started buying at 16 cents, and averaged up to a total buy price of a shade over 73 cents - I now have 2.5 times as many as I do PDN shares. A lot!!
AGS - started buying at 16 cents also, and averaged up to an average buy price of 50.4 cents before today. I bought another swagload today for 1.58 taking my average buy up to 63 cents. I now have almost twice as many AGS as I do SMM.
So that's it - my dark side as a buy and hold investor has been declared for all to see ;)
Meanwhile, I continue to be a trader in several other uranium stocks, including BMN, DYL, ERN, and EVE, plus KOR which is a quiet understated achiever.
Usual disclaimers, make own decisions, etc etc.
