The Stockness figure is on that particular day of trading.
I've found that VWAP is a very good tool for day trading/intra-trading a hyped/announcement of a stock. When the stock price hits the VWAP line for the day it is either a good time to buy/sell depend on what trade you are conducting.
When one of your orders are filled below the current VWAP, that would be classed as a good entry as it was bought lower than the current average price of all the traders. Same would apply to a seller if you exited above the VWAP.
When trading using VWAP, you want to be not in with the crowd, as the crowd is normally to late to the party.
