I would say that is a very likely scenario. A new K5 well with SA grant money.
Then go back in and frac K4 (if they can), or put a smaller capacity pump on it..... (remembering that I dont think it is the water flow rate that is the main issue there - it is probably flowing at 200-400 bwp/day or a relatively low rate like that, but the ESP is good for say a 500-3000 BWP/d operating window)......therefore overheating.
A donkey pump or jet pump to keep K4 going as is (can handle the lower flow rate), or a re-frac and then a jet pump or flick the ESP back down there.
