I read other day re BHP's results that one of I think 2 metals they did poorly at was Manganese.

Now, I recall someone made a pertinent observation (a long time ago lol) that CSM keeps getting hammard by BHP over price of Manganese..

I took that to mean that like a good old price war with air fares, BHP can afford to smash (or do damage on Mg prices to) CSM.

We know CSM were having trouble with containing their COSTS. Now I'm wondering how CSM can have been doing good enough.

And again, restructuring CSM's management recently (2006) cost some $6million which for CSM was a lot of their profit. And well may they sell to the Russians. But how much of the cake will management GIVE themselves. So much for BEING management plus more for finding a buyer. The time and effort needed, was it the time and effort otherwise needed to manage the company anyway? Leaving what value? Well of course shareholders will find out after the facts.

An wasn't it rumoured the Russians want the Manganese? So how much is a loss making manganese mine worth, if it is making a loss?

Did CSM ever mention unit costs of manganese? And by what percentage they envision improving that unit cost?

I figure the best strategy is to phone CSM every day and ask, "Has anyone in management sold today"?

Yes you'll become like the kid in the back seat asking over and over, "Are we there yet"?

But if I held CSM I'd really want to know when management bail out. Pity there is no flag attached to the real time list of trades on CommSec that signal management just SOLD! Per se.

Not that CSM are any different to any other company on the stock exchange.
