    Yes fuel driven engines are much more powerful at the moment.
    I use to love flying remote controlled fuel driven model aircraft when I was a kid.
    The guy who lived near the park use to fly them every weekend and he would let us use the controls.
    There is a lot of noise and even more danger with fuel driven drones, they are quite dangerous and not to mention they pollute the air like nothing else does.

    I love the technology but realy I just cant see them being used in a built up area.
    They would be good in disasters for monitoring wreckage and giving a good picture of what the situation is.

    I think much smaller autonomous insect like things would be very useful in disasters. You could drop a thousand of the things and they could work their way down through the rubble of buildings etc.

    Anyway the technology is great its just the application that is in doubt.
