I believe you are EARNIE.. Its all about risk reduction in the eyes of investors ..reduce the risk and you increase the attractiveness of any security ..accordingly those investors who are highly risk averse will have nothing to do with APG regardless of BHP position as they cannot adequately value the company. HOWEVER those investors with a higher tolerance for risk will see a reduction in the risk associated with a position in APG coupled with a prospensity for higher returns (as BHP is now associated with APG) basically the marriage of APG with BHP will lead to a higher reward to variability ratio....
So we will still have a speculative stock until we have some real cash flows but an aggressive investor will see a much more attractive oppertunity for future expected cashflow. Bottom line .. BHP means future higher returns with lower risk which will translate into increased sp 15c 20c or 30c who knows the market will decide but with BHP on board its going to be much more than 10c. :):)
