Personally I don't judge a person by what they make but by their demonstrated character if I judge them at all. There is sufficient doubt out there to think that W.D Gann was not all he appeared to be - when your own son says your claims are fraudulent then it bears consideration. Unfortunately, like many forecasters, its possible his greatest achievements occurred in hindsight.

I don't want to condemn him unfairly, just stating that I believe there is sufficient reason to view him very carefully. One simple observation might be that if his methods worked so accurately it is likely they would be far more widely, even universally, used. (Which would then destroy their value).

As mentioned he was always successful at selling his program (as have been a number of his modern day followers) which were extremely expensive (as are many of those of his modern day followers) and extraordinarily mysterious (like modern day gurus of all types).

In respect of trading, his swing trading system was simple, defined and effective. Like any sound money management system, careful discipline and adherence to the rules should yield good returns.
