I agree with you in that regardless of the type of battery we don't want to see failure on grid installations - everyone would lose
But as for flow batteries in grid installations - what are the technical restrictions for flow batteries on this scale
I would have thought that the only reason we do not see flow batteries in grid installations is that it is early days just yet - start small (domestic and commercial) and get all the issues resolved before going to industrial scale
I would be very surprised if the developers of flow batteries have not got grid installations as a long term target
