how about questioning if the problems came because they weren't given enough money?
How about looking at societies who have no welfare --------------- do they have problems? == oh dear, do they ever.

an irrelevant thought in this debate - but, well worth doing some 'actual' research on - it is indeed, a fascinating study - to see the differences between those that go broke after big wins and those that get on well after big wins - it is quite instructive.
