In a modern society the religion must help and succor the people who come together as a group.
A so called religion that allows the stoning of people, suicide bombers, reducing women to less than slaves, mutilation of sexual parts and the list goes on is not a religion but a cult or a dictatorship for the demoralizing of the people.
