@blastfurnace. I was told by another smart geo as soon as they looked at it that as Esh says here quartz has a specific grav of 2.65 and is the most likely contaminant in the lithium.

From my own research I am also led to believe that Feldspar and Sodium/Potassium dominant derivations of Fledspar all fall into a specific gravity range of 2.5-2.7

So based on this I would say that is just another thing that has been announced under a guise. They have just listed that as another "not measured" mineral in terms of lithium content.

However I would suspect (without being a geo) that the nature of the contaminant will depend how easy it is to separate this mineral from any Spodumene. At the end of the day it isn't just about how much lithium can be extracted it is about how cheaply/effectively it can be done so.

In saying that and in the nature of balance there are other deposits that manage the existence of feldspar etc just fine and it may not be an issue. But given management chose to not even name the mineral or give any information on it's separation these met details are scant to say the least.

And yes, they are 'preliminary' but if they expected them to get a whole lot better why announce at all? Just commit to doing a whole met program of works before releasing to the market?
