No Wotsup, Gen 2:7 .... and man became a living soul. So we have a body with life IS "a" living soul= 1. If he stops breathing his life ends and he becomes a dead soul = 1, instead of a living soul =1.

Rev 6:6-9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the alter the "souls" of them that were slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. The souls, with a loud voice then ask, how much longer O Lord does thou not judge and avenge our blood......... And they are told to rest for a little season.

Wotsup, I'm in agreement with you that Darkroom is distorting Scripture to claim all of the Bible is metaphorical and never to be understood as literal. However these that are crying out to God for justice do so in the same way as does the "blood" of Abel. - Genesis 4:10 You must know blood can't talk. Neither can slain souls . Eccl 9:5,10. So in these cases it must be metaphorical.

1 Cor 15:45 onward talks of those raised to heavenly life as spirit persons. They are no longer souls ( breathing creatures). 1 Peter 3:18 says Jesus was made alive in the "spirit". He was able to take on a body of flesh and bone and dispose of it at will to appear to his disciples inside locked doors and then disappear at will. Other spirit creatures have done similar things.

Time for a quick dip in the pool and of to bed.
