Clarkie,
"And the man who owns 2,000 shares of BHP is wealthier than the man who owns 1,000 shares of BHP."
Have you heard of Sons of Gwalia? :)
I feel you present a balanced arguement. I take the middle ground. eg -
Bought BHP - $23 (Parcel 1)
Bought BHP again - $26 (Parcel 2)
Sold BHP - $30 (Parcel 2)
Bought BHP - $24 (using proceeds from Parcel 2)
Will sell parcel again @ $30.
________________________________
This whole time I have retained my original Parcel 1 and will do indefinately. However, I have traded the stock a number of times making the volitility work for me.
Confused? So am I.
