What you report is correct. Invalid comments are " the lawyers have contributed to his extended imprisonment'. Not so, if he had been charged then tried in a legally constituted court the chance of a pre-trial appeal would have been less. Even with the changes to procedure it sounds as though a challenge will be mounted. People should not make comments like "have no sympathy for him" until the true facts of his case are brought out in evidence. The US President's comments such as saying that these prisoners are the worst of the worst and the camp commander saying that these men are dangerous to justify manacle application before leaving the cell are predudicial and political spin directed at us.
