one of my favorite hedge fund managers that i follow closely is Heyman Capital's Kyle Bass
he has some ideas about china and asia that he is not talking too much about in terms on what he is shorting.. but he is short in china a lot and in germany
but at the end of a recent bloomberg interview some nice points were made by him on russia..
Toward the end, Bass takes an interesting detour in which he praises the Russian economic response to the recession of 2015 in what appears to be a decidedly bullish outlook on Russian assets, and when Shatzker proposes summarizing the Bass interview by saying "short China, long Russia", Bass responds "that's a good place to start"
i have been asking talking a bit with TIG about the idea of getting the share onto a better exchange that would have a thirst for this type of investment... something i think the board would be considering this year imho
