It would be very interesting if we followed the Swiss system and put all major decisions to a compulsory referendum
The biggest result would be the socialist left and the crazy minorities would not be able to quote their favorite augment --- "All the people are in favor of xyz" because the referendum would force the silent majority to speak and show they are not.
