I'm a "Greenie" and I support nuclear energy - because I'm an evidence based Greenie, there's heaps of us.
You really suggesting that a full mix of Wind, Solar (photo-voltaic & solar thermal etc.), tidal and the advances in battery storage would really leave us freezing in winter?
I believe nuclear for base load and a renewable technology is by far the most likely outcome, if Australia sheds it's irrational fear of nuclear we should be completely energy independent and have unlimited cheap power.
