That's blown the "black sheep" or "rotten apple" theory out of the water. If those statistics were for Muslims then there would be national outrage and calls for a ban on immigration from Muslim countries. Wonder whether the Catholics will get the same treatment?
Not only were up to 40% of some Catholic orders child abusers, then you have to add in the physical abuse, the criminal cover ups, the corruption of police (particularly Victorian police), the perjury, withholding of evidence etc.
And when you consider this happened in much the same way in over 200 cities worldwide it's clear that it was systemic and organised - the Catholic Church was effectively an international crime organisation. Is it still or has it changed?
