Here you go - go read his book where he says children born to IVF are commodities and less loved than children conceived naturally, among other gems. That is why Bernardi wanted to cut the IVF program - because he has no concept of compassion because he is that far right up his own backside he doesn't have a clue about the struggles some have in having children.
The other gems in that book are that he says families with a single parent are more likely to have higher criminality among boys and promiscuity among girls. He wants the traditional family unit restored, I presume been husband, obeying wife looking after the kids and bowing to his every needs whilst cooking a nice home meal, and children. Well the fact of life, even though I am married, is the traditional family doesn't exist the way Bernardi thinks it exists (i.e. both parents work), there are single parents so he needs to get over that, and people married may not have kids at all or have them late in life because of cost of living/housing affordability pressures. And same sex couples - yes Bernardi they exist, it ain't the 15th century no longer
Yes Bernardi is a right wing nut job - go read his book (I read extracts at the book shop and not worth buying unless you think you may need toilet paper in the future). He is essentially an evangelist masquerading as a politician, but probably he is unlikely to get caught snorting cocaine with a prostitute in tow like many of those do in the USA.
