Someone with charting software please post a log chart of the xao. You will see that relative to prior movements (notably 1984-87 run) the xao is nowhere near as vertical as it looks on the standard charts.
500 point movement in 84 was 90%, now only 10%. Please stop viewing charts on standard axis. the compounding effect is totally distorted and leads you to the conclusion that the index is going near vertical. It is not and over the last 20 years has gone up much more steeply at times relative to the underlying value than is currently the case.
